Clifford Espevik
1927 – 2021

Clifford Espevik, 93, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Grand Victorian of Sycamore.

The Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 2nd at Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Satya Sudhakar, Pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church, officiating. The livestream of the service will be available at www.muellerfh.com. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakridge Cemetery. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.

Clifford was born on December 5, 1927 in Seneca, to Lars and Petra (Nordtvedt) Espevik. He was a graduate of Leland High School and farmed in Leland prior to joining Snap-On Tools in 1966. After a long and accomplished career, he retired from Snap-On Tools, in 1991. Clifford married Carol Schaefer on August 11, 1956 in Marengo at the First Methodist Church. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the Elks Club, the Fire and Police Commission for the City of Ottawa, and was a hospital Care-A-Van volunteer.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two children, Craig (Barbara) Espevik of Park Ridge, Cheryl (David) Fisher of Sycamore; four grandchildren, Jessica Fisher, Benjamin Fisher, Nicholas Espevik, Alexis Espevik;

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leif Espevik; five sisters, Anna Anderson, Solveig Smith, and Lillian Espevik, Priscilla Worthington, and Leona Walker; four brothers-in-law, Richard Anderson, Donald Smith, Rae Worthington, Ollie Walker; and two nephews, Paul Espevik, and Larry Worthington.

Memorials may be directed to Unity Hospice & Palliative Care, Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, or Epworth United Methodist Church.
