As people are getting vaccinated for COVID-19, doctors say that getting a flu shot is also important.
Primary care Dr. Adriana Dumitrescu says that last year there were almost no flu cases.
The doctor also says last year people were doing a more thorough job of washing their hands.

Dumitrescu says that could be a problem for people in the medical field.
She says that symptoms of COVID-19 and the flu are very similar and could cause hospitals to run out of ICU beds.
She says getting a flu shot will help prevent hospitalization.
