At a ceremony in Marseilles Saturday, several people recalled what they were doing at work or at school when the terrorist attacks happened on September 11, 2001.
Mayor Jim Hollenbeck talked about being on an FBI terrorism task force. And he talked about how people are still affected by the attacks because they lost loved ones or were sickened by the dust and toxins from the destruction.
On behalf of Marseilles Fire Chief Dave Parrot, fire fighter Jeff Owens described the dedication first responders have to handling dangers.
The event was at the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial.
