St Rep. Lance Yednock of Ottawa says the state needs to preserve the reliability of energy generated by nuclear power.

Yednock says the new energy bill passed in the house Thursday is a way to be able to do that.

He says the bill will keep the power plants open for another five years.

Yednock says it’s a little bit disingenuous that House Republicans claim that the bill was created behind closed doors.

He says that even he didn’t get the chance to see the bill get written.

He also says that the bill gives the state a little more than 15 years to try and work on energy efficient technology before fossil fuel power plants would be shut down.
