Robert Stephen Brown, 74, of Marseilles, passed away September 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 10 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Clark of Marseilles Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Robert was born May 11, 1947, in Millbrook, IL, to Robert P. Sr and Marjorie E. (Fuller) Brown. In 2017, he married Cindy Q. Marlow of Marseilles who survives.

Bob served in the U.S. Navy Sea Bees from 1966-1968 in the Vietnam War. He was employed as a long haul over the road truck driver. He and his family owned and operated Brown’s Fishery, Brown’s Fish House, and Mill Creek Fishery in Marseilles. In his free time, he enjoyed working at the Black Lion and Snug Harbor, and he was a talented mixologist. He had a lot of fun owning and operating the LaSalle County Party Bus. Bob loved his trips to Key West, listening to Jimmy Buffet, watching Wheel of Fortune, and will always be remembered for his “one-liners.”

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Q. Brown; two sons, Clayton (Loren Jessen) Brown of Ottawa and Nathan Cummings of Marseilles; his stepson, Cory (Brittany) Marlow of MI; five grandchildren, Mason and Gia Brown, Aliyah Cummings, and Foster and Lakelee Marlow; and his beloved dog, Trixie Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of the flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Marseilles Nursing Service or the family.

Pallbearers will be Joey Jackson, Cory Marlow, Aaron Scerini, Gary Boren, Jim Barnes, Rick Wawerski, Brandon Oldenburg, Matt Linton, and Jim Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Wawerski, Jr. Benckendorf, Kevin Worley, and Cajun O’Neal.
