Tonight is Marquette Football on WCMY. The Crusaders travel to take on Chicago Christian game time is 7pm with Isaac Missel and Andrew Evola giving you the play by play action and Steven Devine in studio on 93.5 and 1430 WCMY and streaming on 1430 WCMY DOT COM.

 

Tonight is also Pirate football on Jack FM. One of the oldest state rivalries is back after no action for eight years when the Ottawa Pirates host the Streator Bulldogs at King Field. Game time is at 7pm with the Broadcasting Duo of Sean Frey and Bryer Lehr on 95.3 Jack FM and streaming online at 953 Jack FM DOT COM.

Seneca lost a close one on the road to the Hoopeston Corn Jerkers  26-21. Running Backs Braden Ellis rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns and Asher Hamby ran for 36 yards and the third touchdown for the Fighting Irish.

High School Golf

The Ottawa Varsity team won the IVC Invite at Arrowhead Country Club. Drake Kaufman and Jonathan Cooper tied for overall individual honors shooting 76s (Drake Kaufman took 2nd overall after a scorecard playoff)..

 

Seneca won a three team Tri-County Conference matchup by beating Dwight and Manteno at the Dwight Country Club. Top Golfers for the Irish were Noah and Owen Quigley both with a final score of 41.

 

LP defeated Hall in a head to head matchup 163-173. Leading the Cavaliers were Coleman Rundle with 38 and Carter Fenza finishing with a 39.

 

Streator lost to Peotone in two straight sets in Varsity Volleyball. Abby Bedecker had 7 assists, 2 kills and  2 aces to lead the Lady Bulldogs.

 

The Ottawa Girls Varsity tennis team defeated Geneseo and Alleman at the LP High School Invitational.

  • Ella Marvel and Sara Meyer won both their matchups in singles. 
  • The team of Jenna Smithmeyer and Kyleigh Olszewski, partners Madison Lineback and Isabel Heimsoth and the duo of Rylee Ofallon and Emma Cushing were all winners in doubles.
