LaSalle County Public Defender Tim Cappellini is still looking into the mental health of 29-year old Michael Swift of Mokena. He’s accused of stabbing 21-year old Grace Taylor of Ottawa to death in April. A psychiatrist examined Swift and there may be reports with a Kendall County jail counselor.
Last month, Swift twice refused to leave the Kendall County jail for his scheduled court appearances in Ottawa. Swift is housed there because Taylor’s father works for the LaSalle County jail. Swift was in court before Judge Cynthia Raccuglia this morning. He’s to be in court again on October 14th.
