Morris Republican St. Rep. David Welter says he’s willing to keep showing up for work at the statehouse to get an energy bill on the books. But he says Gov. Pritzker doesn’t seem likely to budge on his deadlines for shutting down carbon-releasing power plants. Welter wants to keep nuclear power plants open.

A bill passed the Illinois Senate at one this morning. It next goes to the House for consideration. St. Sen. Sue Rezin says she doesn’t like everything in the bill, but she feels it’s a good compromise.
