Cong. Adam Kinzinger says he doesn’t believe in a kinder, gentler Taliban that will protect women’s rights and respect those who helped American forces.
Kinzinger says it’s not fair to say the Afghans didn’t fight. He says they bore the brunt of the casualties fighting for their country while Americans were there. Retired Gen. David Petraus says 27 times as many Afghans died. But Kinzinger says he wishes they’d fought harder at the end, and the collapse happened because Afghans had no more air support.
