Cong. Adam Kinzinger visited a few classes at Seneca High School Tuesday. A social studies class was looking into gun control and asked him where he stands. He says bump stocks make a weapon automatic and in his view violate the law against most people having automatic weapons. He told the class he also thinks felons lose their rights to own guns and he wouldn’t be so quick to restore those rights.
Kinzinger told a history class it’s not possible for a member of Congress to read every bill and take care of all the other business, but staff help members understand the bills. He also explained what else he does during an ordinary day and said he likes to read history books.
And the Channahon Republican asked the students to be the generation that can disagree without hating each other so they can get things done.
