The Marquette Crusaders defeated the Dakota Indians 42-22 at Gould Stadium. The game was suspended Saturday afternoon due to a heat index of 106 degrees at the field. Running Back Jurnee Reed rushed for two touchdowns to lead the Crusaders in the victory.
The CRU are on the road Friday night when they take on Chicago Christian.

The Ottawa Boys Varsity team improved their conference record against Sycamore at Deer Park Golf Course by winning 146-162 Drake Stoudt & Drake Kaufman each scored a 34 to lead the Pirates.
The Lady Pirates scored a 207 to win at Edgebrook Golf Course against Sandwich & Earlville. Ottawa’s Zoe Harris led all golfers with a 43.
Streator lost to Pontiac in two straight sets in varsity volleyball. Natalie Williams had 3 kills and Abby Bedecker finished with 6 assists for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Ottawa soccer team dominated on the road over Sandwich 7-0. Top performers for the Pirates were Senior Captain Gio Resendez who scored an impressive 4 goals in the game. Ethan Cela added a two goal scoring performance and Evan Snook also scored a goal in the victory.
The White Sox host Pittsburgh at Guaranteed Rate Field. Lucas Giolito takes the mound for the South-Siders to face Bryse Wilson and the Pirates. Pregame starts at 6:30 with the first pitch at 7:10pm on 93.5 and 1430 WCMY.
The Cubs visit the Twins tonight. Zach Davies will face Minnesota’s John Gant. The Cubs have lost three of their last four.
Jon Lester yielded just one run on one hit over six-and-one-third innings in the Cards 3-1 win over the Reds in Cincinnati. Giovanny Gallegos posted his third save and Paul Goldschmidt drilled a two-run homer in the first for St. Louis. The Cards now trail the Reds by two-and-a-half games for the second National League Wild Card spot.
Cardinals second baseman Tommy Edman is the National Player of the Week. The infielder received the honor after batting .462 with two homers, 10 RBIs and two stolen bases over the past week.
The Chicago Sky will visit the Phoenix Mercury tonight. The Sky easily defeated the Seattle Storm on Sunday 107-75.
The US Open is officially underway as the best tennis players in the world compete in New York. On the men’s side, top-seeded American John Isner lost in the First Round to fellow American Brandon Nakashima. On the women’s side, 17-year-old Coco Gauff shook off a slow start to beat Magda Linette in three sets. She will next square off with Sloane Stephens, who defeated Madison Keys, in the Second Round.
