A new law requires the state to form a task force to find out how to make laws against domestic violence better. St. Rep. David Welter says it’ll be called Colton’s Task Force. It’s named for Colton Miller of Joliet. Welter learned about the 18-month old boy after his father killed him and his mother took the boy’s ashes to a meeting with Welter.
The task force is to make recommendations to the General Assembly and Governor by September 1 next year.
