For the third day in a row, the LaSalle County Health Department says it has found West Nile Virus in the county. A crow picked up in Streator today had the virus. Yesterday, a crow in Utica tested positive for it and two days ago a mosquito batch in Ottawa did. Director of Environmental Health Chris Pozzi says the hot, dry weather will enable the virus to thrive. It’s only a matter of time before mosquitoes infect people with the potentially deadly disease.
