A 25-year old Bloomington man’s car was found in Peru Thursday, but the man himself is still missing. Police Chief Doug Bernabei says someone reported a car in a wooded area south of the Illinois Valley YMCA. Searchers using drones, dogs, and personnel on the ground looked for the owner, Jelani J. Day, but didn’t find him.
He’s an Illinois State University graduate student reported missing Wednesday. Day is a 6’2″, 180-pound black man with short hair and some facial hair. Anyone who thinks they saw Day or anyone else driving his white 2010 Chrysler 300 four-door car is asked to contact police.
