Dale E. Wheaton, 76 of Streator passed away Sunday evening (August 22, 2021) at his home.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 12noon until 2 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. A time of remembrance will be held Saturday at 2 PM at the funeral home with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
Dale was born on August 31, 1944 in Streator to Rex and Mable (Legare) Wheaton. He married Ursula Jean Vernoy on September 11, 1965. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2016.
Surviving are daughters, Agnes Vernoy of Ottawa, Eugenea (David) Harmon of Streator and Samantha Wheaton of Streator, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 due in February of 2022, brothers, Bob (Theresa) Wheaton of Oklahoma, Larry (Julie) Martin of Ottawa, James Martin Sr of Ottawa and Gene Martin of Ottawa, sisters, June Dawson of Ohio and Diane (John) Nelson of Ottawa.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Gary Martin and Jack Wheaton and a sister Darlene Helander.
Dale attended school in Ottawa and was retired from Elsa in Anderson, IN, Anchor Glass and R.R. Donnelly.
Memorials may be made in his name to Pet Project in Marseilles.
