The Peru City Council has approved a $55,634 contract to have the automatic weather station at Illinois Valley Regional Airport moved. That’s the system that reports the temperature and other conditions to the National Weather Service’s web site. City Engineer Eric Carls says DBT Transportation Services will move it.
It has to be moved because it’s not in the best location anymore at the airport. With the addition of new hangars, it’s now surrounded by buildings.
