Marseilles Commissioner of Public Property Jim Buckingham is wondering what the city can do about homeless people living under the bridge that goes over the Illinois River.
Buckingham says that the city spent thousands of dollars putting a sidewalk underneath it.
Buckingham says citizens shouldn’t have to be afraid to walk under the bridge.
Buckingham says the city also spent money on lighting up the walking area.
City Attorney Mike Fuller says that he will look into it and get back to the board.
