The man accused of stabbing and killing 21-year old Grace Taylor back in April refused to be in court today.
Assistant State’s Attorney Greg Sticka says 29-year old Michael Swift refused to leave the Kendall County Jail where he is currently staying.
The reason Swift is staying in Kendall County is because Grace Taylor’s father is a Lasalle County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Judge Cynthia Raccuglia asked Jail Superintendent Jason Edgcomb to get in contact with the Kendall County Jail to see if Swift can be transferred.
Raccuglia says Swift needs to come back to the county before she can continue with the case.
Swift has been mentally evaluated although the information wasn’t released.
He’s scheduled to be back in court next Thursday.
