The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will let Oglesby take until 2028 to build a new sewage treatment plant. City Commissioner Jason Curran says the agency had wanted it done by 2023.
An engineering study in 2019 found that Oglesby’s sewer plant is too old and must be replaced. That could cost $15 million.
