Harriet “Lois” Webb, 102

Harriet “Lois” Webb, 102 years old, passed on Friday, July 23, 2021.
A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Ottawa Funeral Home with Lois’ grandson, Tom Webb officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday. Burial will take place in the Grand Ridge Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded to Ottawa Funeral Home.
Lois was born in Farm Ridge Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, daughter of Arthur and Edith Grace (Redman) Read. She married Everett Webb in 1950 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Everett passed in January of 1986. They farmed for over thirty five years in Farm Ridge township. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1937. She was a nurse at the Ottawa Arthritis Sanitarium and Ottawa General Hospital.
Lois was a quiet, but active lifetime member of the Grand Ridge Methodist Church and church circles. She did whatever she could when asked to serve. Also a lifetime member of Home Extension and 4-H. She enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady at Ryburn King Hospital and the auxiliary at OSF. She also was a weekly volunteer at PVL nursing home for over 20 years; taking one grandchild at a time to help with bingo. Through the years she enjoyed traveling, rug making, crocheting, gardening, making pies, card games, and especially enjoying friends and family gatherings. Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who amazingly lived through the smallpox and covid 19 pandemics. She will be missed.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Johnson of Ottawa and one son, John(Sue) of Ottawa; her four grandchildren, Charlotte(John) Nadig of Rochelle, Il, Lisa (Josh) Jeanblanc of Allen , Texas, Dr. Thomas(Kelly)Webb of Carterville ,IL, and Daniel (Ali)Webb of Marseilles, Il and her 11 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ruth, Joseph, Benjamin, Elijah, and Phineas Nadig, Kate and Jack Jeanblanc, and Logan, Mason, and Baylor Webb. Lois was also cherished by her sister Edith’s children, Lynne, Janis, Kathy, Jim, Debbie, and Bill.
