If you walk into Marseilles City Hall you might notice something different.

There is a glass case that will sit at the entrance and display artifacts like commemorative dishes and banners.

Commissioner Jim Buckingham says one highlight that will stay in the case forever is a plaque dedicated to founder Lovell Kimball.

Buckingham says that the plaque used to be behind the Marseilles diner where the cemetery is now where Kimball is buried.

The items will be swapped out every few months and replaced with different artifacts.

Buckingham says he hopes to have a display dedicated to Marseilles High School and one for the history of the freedom run that ends in the city.

Here are some extra pictures of some of the current items that are in the case.
