City of Marseilles awards bid to John Pohar and Sons to begin construction on water and sewer extension

John Pohar and Sons will be the company to extend water and sewer for the city of Marseilles.

The project will start on 11th Street, go up Rutland Street and end at Interstate 80.

Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the project has been in the process since the 1970’s.

He says that it took a lot of work from former city councils annexing the land and right of ways for the project.

Hollenbeck also says the project will go up the shoulder of Rutland Street and shouldn’t disrupt traffic.

He also hopes the project will be started in a month and should be done in a year.
