The city of Oglesby is planning on getting $130,000 in state money for new fire hydrants, but not quickly. City Commissioner Jason Curran says the city’s been trying to get the money for a few years. He’s been in touch with St. Rep. Lance Yednock about it. For now, Curran’s determining which hydrants to replace.

Curran says the legislation for the funding says it can be used on other capital improvements, but they have to relate to replacing fire hydrants.
