Peru City Clerk David Bartley says that citizens who weren’t paying their electric bills because of the pandemic are starting to do it now.

On June 3rd, the city needed $45,000 worth of bills and as of Monday that number has shrunk to $15,000.

Bartley says with the debt that is left some of it is being given back to landlords and property landlords.

He also says this is a great sign that the city of Peru is coming out of the pandemic and people are working.
