The Chemtool fire in Rockton is going to have an effect on farming throughout the country. Illinois Corn Growers Association Exec. Dir. Rodney Weinzierl says with that factory out of production, farmers will have trouble getting grease needed to lubricate harvesting equipment.
Chemtool’s Rockton location produced 60% of the grease used for lubrication throughout the United States. Farmers and everyone else who use any kind of motorized vehicle with electronics are already dealing with the computer chip shortage.
