St. Rep. David Welter says he’s working with local officials to find funding for the bridge repair needed on River Rd. near Seneca. He met with Mayor Jeff Olson and LaSalle County Board Chairman Don Jensen yesterday. A bridge on River Rd. collapsed as a pickup truck crossed it Monday night during a flash flood. The driver wasn’t hurt, but needed help getting out of the truck. The truck itself became a sort of bridge over the chasm with the road on each side of it supporting the ends of the truck.
