The Mendota Sweet Corn Festival planners took a risk that worked out. They started planning for a full festival with a carnival, entertainment acts, a craft and flea market, a parade, and the sweet corn serving. Mendota Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Shelby Weide says they didn’t know six months ago if the pandemic would wipe out another year.
The full Sweet Corn Festival will run from August 12th to 15th. Weide says the vendors involved were eager to return and started calling months ago.
