Ottawa’s Riverfest will span just four days this year. It’ll start Thursday, July 29th.

City Commissioner Wayne Eichelkraut says some elements will be the familiar ones: the book sale, a boat parade, a flea market and a fishing rodeo for kids. Like in 2019, there’s no carnival. There’ll be a big change on Sunday, August 1st with a party at the Jordan block instead of a parade.

That party will provide free food and drinks. And there’ll be activities for children.

Eichelkraut says without a big revenue generator, hotel-motel tax money is providing a lot of the funding for Riverfest this year.
