Some people say with the Maytag building and the Kaskaskia Hotel, downtown LaSalle has two building rehabs that’ll never be finished. Some city council members are unhappy that no one from CL Enterprises, which is behind both projects, will explain things to the council in person during a public meeting.
In an email, Nathan Watson of CL Enterprises says the pandemic caused the general contractor to have staffing and supply problems. Alderman Jordan Crane says the pandemic has nothing to do with it.
Mayor Jeff Grove says he’s optimistic about CL Enterprises.
CL Enterprises says it’s getting other projects done in other communities and is as unhappy as everyone else about the slow pace in LaSalle.
