In a little over two years, there’ll be a dental hygiene program at Illinois Valley Community College. The time to start the program gives students applying for it time to take their prerequisite classes first. IVCC officials are expecting the program to give ten to 15 students every year a reason to stay instead of transferring to other colleges. That’s how many get started in the dental assisting program at IVCC and then go into dental hygiene elsewhere.
