Ottawa High School will have two school nurses. Supt. Mike Cushing says the need for a second nurse has been building for a few years. One nurse is being required to do two or more things at once multiple times a day. And it’s not because of more students getting sick or hurt. School nurses must do a lot of record keeping now. And they’re involved in students’ individual education plans.
The second nurse will work 32 to 34 hours a week for less than $30,000 per year.
