The Illinois Coaches Association announced its 2021 All-State Softball team.
Ottawa pitcher Abby Bukantis in Class 3A and Seneca pitcher Maggie Carpenter in Class 2A were First Team honorees.
Players named to the ICA Third Team — Ottawa senior infielder Abi Claus in 3A and Seneca freshman infielder Sam Vandevelde in 2A.
In Class 1A, Serena junior Katie Baker and freshman Paisley Twait, as well as Marquette sophomore Kaylee Killelea were all honored.

The Chicago Sky visit the New York Liberty tonight. The Sky’s latest victory came this past Saturday when they defeated the Connecticut Sun 91-81.
The NBA Playoffs resume tonight, as the Clippers visit the Suns for Game Two of the Western Conference Finals in Phoenix. Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Bucks and Hawks will begin tomorrow.
The NBA Lottery will be held tonight to determine the draft order. Fourteen teams have a shot at the top overall pick. The Bulls are hoping to keep their 2021 first-round pick tonight. The Bulls traded away their pick when they acquired Nikola Vucevic from the Magic in March. The Bulls also sent a 2023 first-round selection, Wendell Carter Jr. and Otto Porter Jr. to Orlando. However, if Chicago lands a pick in the top four during tonight’s lottery, they will retain their selection. If they draw a pick outside the top four, they will owe their pick to the Magic.
The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 against the NCAA yesterday in a case involving a player from West Virginia University and other student athletes. The athletes argued the NCAA’s restrictions on education-related benefits such as paid internships, computers, and other equipment, violated federal antitrust law. The ruling is a blow to the NCAA, striking down some of its long-held “amateurism” rules. The ruling comes just as some states are pushing for student-athletes to receive monetary compensation.
