Water tank trucks from fire departments in this area went to South Beloit this morning for the fire fighting effort at Chemtool. The Peru, Wallace, Utica, Wenona, and Tonica fire departments answered the call for help through MABAS Division 25. They met in Utica this morning at 6am and headed north for an eight-hour shift. Marseilles sent a truck last night. The command center for the fire fight is at South Beloit High School. Chemtool makes grease and other lubricants in Rockton, between Rockford and the Illinois-Wisconsin border.
