A Streator couple would like the city not to send one of its own employees to inspect rental homes. Becky Coons isn’t against the inspections. She just feels it’s a privacy violation to have someone else from the city look around inside the home she’s renting out next door to hers.
Coons also suggests giving small time landlords, those who own only one or two homes, a break so they don’t have to have inspections. The City Council listened to her and her husband Russ Coons last week, but it doesn’t have any action planned in the near future.
