After almost five decades working for the department, LaSalle County Sheriff Tom Templeton is calling it a career. He told the County Board yesterday he’s retiring at the end of this month.
His biography on the Sheriff’s Department web site says he began working there in 1973. Templeton says his family and friends have supported him, and he says he’ll be eternally grateful for County Board support. Templeton ran for Sheriff in 1998 when Tony Condie retired. To fill the rest of the current term, Templeton is recommending the board name Undersheriff Adam Diss to the job.
