The Streator Bulldogs hit the road to face Morton in a Class 3A semifinal
Last night on WCMY the Ottawa Lady Pirates dominated in the Class 3A sectional semifinal by beating Oak Forest in Softball 8-0. Ottawa’s Abby Bukantis pitched all seven innings with no runs, no hits, no walks, six strikeouts and no base runners allowed in her perfect game performance. The Lady Pirates head to their first sectional championship Thursday at Lemont.
Marquette defeated Dwight 13-7 in their Class 1A sectional opener. The Lady Crusader travel to face Newark in the Class 1A Championship on Thursday. Newark defeated Milford 11-0 to earn their spot in the championship game.
The Seneca Lady Irish lost to the visiting Normal University 3-0 in the opening round of the class 2A sectional semi-finals. Maggie Carpenter pitched seven innings allowing two earned runs, a walk and eight strikeouts in the loss.
Seneca defeated both Eureka and their host El Paso in a triangular wrestling meet.
