Marquette claimed their fifth straight regional baseball title with a 13-8 victory over the Hall Red Devils in Spring Valley.. The Crusaders Grant Waldron hit a grand slam in the sixth to seal the win. The Streator Bulldogs are Class 3A Regional Champions by winning on the road at Dunlap 8-4. Streator advances to the sectional semi-final and will travel to Morton on Wednesday.
St Bede rallied in the seventh and defeated their host Yorkville Christian 17-11 and won the Class 1A regional title. The Bruins play at Grant Park on Wednesday in the sectional semifinals.
Seneca outscored their host Monmouth Roseville 72 -6 and tied with Riverdale at 37 in a triangular contest in wrestling. Winners for the Irish: Kyler Hahn Owen Feiner Justin Lavarier Asher Hamby Isaac Marques Luke Sangston Jaden Casey Gavin Robertson and Nathan Elliott. Seneca is back on the road today taking on El Paso and Eureka.
