Yesterday on WCMY The Marquette Lady Crusaders shut out Hope Academy  13-0 in five innings at the class 1A Regional. 

Pitcher Kaylee Killelea struckout thirteen batters for the CRU.

 

More High School action tonight when the Ottawa Pirates hosts Morris at King Field in the class 3A regional in baseball. First pitch is at 6pm, don’t miss any of the play by play with Bryar Lehr on 1430 WCMY and streaming online at 1430 WCMY DOT COM.

After high school sports on the radio we will join the White Sox taking on the Detroit Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field already in progress.

 

The Lady Irish defeated Reed-Custer 10-0 in 5 innings for the Class 2A Regional in softball at Seneca high school.

Maggie Carpenter pitched twelve strikeouts for the Irish.

 

Serena outscored Walther Christian 9- 2 in 1A regional softball play at Melrose Park.

 

The Seneca Girls track team won their 9th consecutive sectional class 1A title by scoring 163 points. Marquette placed 11th and Serena finished 13th.

 

 At the Geneseo 2A Sectional in girls track & field.  Streator’s Lana Krohe placed first in the shot put competition and Abby Pierce finished second in the 300 meter hurdles. Both girls will now advance to State competition.

 

On Wednesday was the boys Interstate Eight Conference meet for track & field.

Kaneland won the conference title with Sycamore coming in second, Sandwich taking third, Plano in fourth, Morris was fifth, Rochelle placed sixth, LP was seventh and Ottawa finished eighth.

The Pirates best finishers were  Joe Ovanic placing fourth in the shot put and Anthony Bianchi taking  fifth in the 400 meters.

The Cavaliers best performer was Ryan Hartman taking fifth in the 3,200 meters.

 

Wrestling

Seneca defeated Glenbard South 78-0 and their host Yorkville Christian 39-34 in a triangular contest. The Fighting Irish are now 25-2 on the season.

 

Ottawa lost to Sandwich 56-18 in an Interstate Eight Conference matchup.

Winners for the Pirates were  Casey Kammerer,  Hunter Wilson and Jaxson Decker 

 

Tonight Seneca will host a “Grapple on the Gridiron” triangular against Coal City and Ottawa on the football field tonight at 6 p.m.
