Ottawa went eleven innings to defeat Sterling 3-2 at King Field in softball. 

McKenzie Oslanzi pitched ten innings and stuckout 12 batters. Kendall Eslinger finished the game and earned the win in relief for the Pirates.

 

Also in softball Marquette lost game one 6-2 and game two 5-4 in a double header at Woodland

For the Lady Crusaders in game one pitcher Kaylee Killelea went six innings with five strikeouts. In game two Killelea had two hits and two RBIs in the loss.

 

Over in baseball

Marquette shut out Woodland at Masinelli Field 10-0 in five innings.

Nick Melvin had a single, two doubles and a RBI and Luke Couch finished with three RBIs for the Crusaders.

 

Ottawa finished the regular season with a win at home over Streator 5-0 at King Field.

The Pirates are at Morris and the Bulldogs are at Galesburg to start  the class 3A regional on Friday

 

The Seneca Irish defeated Midland in a doubleheader 10-1  and  14-4  both in five innings.

 

And the Earlville Red Raiders won on the road at Leland 13-9.

 

The Ottawa varsity tennis team won eight of 10 matches to win the Interstate eight Conference Tournament title.

The Pirates’ Adam Gross was a winner in singles.  In doubles, Sam Walker and Regan Linde,  Tanner Ditchfield and Will Goetz, and the duo of Logan Goetsch and Daniel Reinhardt were all winners for Ottawa.

 

The JV team also won the I-8 conference title in tennis with a total team score of 37 points.

For Ottawa, Sebastian Cabrera earned first place in singles. Ethan Hancock/Zander Houk and Landen Thorsen/Ryan Salas were winners in doubles.

 

Streator lost at Mendota in tennis 3-2.

Winners for the Bulldogs were Max Baker and Cooper Wahl in doubles and still undefeated for the season Davey Rashid in singles.

 

Results in the opener for the Class 2A girls soccer sectional:

Ottawa won at home over Kankakee 3-0 and will travel to face Joliet Catholic on Friday.

Streator defeated Providence 2-1.  The Lady Bulldogs will visit Morris in the quarterfinals on Friday.

 

Seneca defeated Rockford East 49-24 but lost to their host Sandwich 36-31 in a triangular contest in wrestling.
