A National Guard 1st Sergeant, Paul Rogalla, was the guest speaker at Ottawa’s Memorial Day ceremony. He recalled a speech by Gen. George W. Casey, Jr. about a British memorial in Burma. It says tell them, “For your tomorrow we gave our today.”
The crowd in Washington Park was smaller than usual. Because of the pandemic, it’s been two years since the public was invited.
