Amendments to a law that was signed by Governor Pritzker were re-introduced Thursday at Marseilles Elementary School Board Meeting.
Superintendent Brenda Donahue says the district has been working on a plan to implement the amendments into the district.
The Student Online Personal Protection Act will help ensure that student’s personal information will be protected when collected by educational technology companies.
The act is making sure that the data collected will be used for beneficial purposes such as providing personalized learning and innovative educational technologies.
Donahue says that the district has been preparing for the act to take effect on July 1st.
