The Marseilles Elementary School Board approved the new online learning plan that was given out by the Illinois State Board of Education at Thursday’s meeting.

This would allow students to still have online learning but for specific reasons like being in quarantine or not being eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.

Superintendent of the Marseilles Elementary School District Brenda Donahue says this would affect students at Marseilles Elementary School because the vaccines are still only available for those 12 an older.

The ISBE’s new resolution to support in person learning also says that students aren’t required to get a vaccine.

Donahue says the school will follow the procedure that the ISBE says that all students will still have to wear a mask but will change as the CDC and Governor’s policies change.
