The Oglesby City Council has set aside money for businesses to upgrade lighting

7,000 dollars has been set aside for businesses in Oglesby to apply for getting their lighting upgraded.

The Illinois Municipal Electric Agency gives out a share of 1,000,000 million dollars to different municipalities and normally Oglesby gets about 9,200 dollars and has used the money to fix lighting around the city.

Commissioner Jason Curran says because of the positive things happening because of businesses like Green Thumb Industries the city has been given 16,300 dollars from IMEA.

Businesses must turn in an application to get a share of the 7,000 dollars and its due July 1st.

Curran also said if the money isn’t used up the city will put it to good use.
