It may be easier to get higher grades at Seneca High School. The school’s changing the grading scale to 90% for an A instead of 93% and 60% for a D instead of 70%. Assistant Principal Mike Coughlin says the grade schools the students come from are on ten-point scales. So are the junior colleges some of them take dual credit courses with.
While the change lowers the threshold for a passing grade, Coughlin doesn’t expect that to mean many more students get diplomas. He says Seneca High School already has a good graduation rate.
