The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is warning people not to park on the highways by the state parks. Deputy Director Rachel Torbert says it’s not safe when emergency vehicles can’t get through.
At the local parks that fill up, IDNR simply closes the gates for a few hours. Anyone traveling to the parks should pay attention to IDNR on social media to find out if the park is still letting people in.
