Around 4,000 Ameren Illinois customers had no electricity for a while yesterday afternoon and evening because of a bird. Spokeswoman Marcelyn Love says the animal got into some substation equipment. That caused some damage and an outage that lasted around an hour-and-a-half for some customers. It started around 5:40pm.
