Yesterday the rain postponed most of the high school sporting events in the area but there were some teams that competed.
Streator won on the road at Manteno 6-5 in eight innings in softball.
Jadyn Hansen pitched a complete game with five earned runs and five strikeouts for the Lady Bulldogs.
In baseball Streator lost at Manteno 16 -3 in five innings.
For the Bulldogs, Nolan Barr had a triple and both Payton Benning and Sean McGurk drove in runs in the loss.
Seneca hosted and defeated Amboy, Marquette and Somonauk in a quadrangular wrestling meet. Winners on the day for the fighting Irish: Luke Sangston Jaden Casey Nate Othon Owen Feiner Wilson Widman Chris Peura Maveric Varland Asher Hamby and Gavin Robertson
Also in wrestling Sandwich defeated Morris 44-24.

Last night on WCMY The White Sox let a four-run lead slip away as the Twins rallied for a 5-4 win at Target Field. Aaron Bummer was tagged with the loss and the blown save. Yasmani Grandal and Jake Lamb each homered for the South-Siders. The series wraps up this afternoon and will not be on the radio at 1430AM WCMY. The next broadcast will be Friday night at the New York Yankees.
David Bote and Ian Happ both hit home runs as the Cubs defeated the Nationals 6-3 at Wrigley Field. Willson Contreras drove in a pair and Keegan Thompson got the win and notched his first career hit. Craig Kimbrel recorded his eighth save for the North-Siders which won its third straight. Game three of the series is tonight.
Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo exited the game in the fifth due to lower back tightness. Rizzo’s injury is listed as day to day.
Nolan Arenado hit a two-run homer in the first in the Cardinals 5-2 win against the Pirates at Busch Stadium. Arenado has gone deep in four straight games. Tommy Edman was 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Cards which snapped a three-game skid. John Gant earned the win after allowing two-runs over five and a third. The two-game set concludes tonight.
The Chicago Sky will visit the Atlanta Dream tonight in the WNBA. The Sky defeated the Washington Mystics this past Saturday in its season opener.
