The Ottawa Elementary School Board approved to return to a regular school schedule.
All members including the two newest approved that schools return to regularly scheduled Instructional Days for the 2021-2022 school year.
Superintendent Cleve Threadgill says the districts might have to make adjustments as the Illinois Department of Public Health changes rules on masks and social distancing.
Threadgill says that remote learning will be an option but not just because a student wants to stay home.
He says in the future a valid doctor’s note would be required for students to learn from home.
The district has been doing online half-days due to pandemic.
