Sterling “Chuck” C. Flanery Jr., 65 formerly of Streator passed away Wednesday morning (May 12, 2021) at the Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove Village.
A visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Chuck was born on August 1, 1955 in Streator to Sterling C. and Barbara J. (LaVelle) Flanery Sr.
He is survived by sons, Eric (Wendy Despinis) Flanery and Matthew (Samantha Dooley) Flanery both of Streator, grandchildren, August Hulbert, Addison Bradbury, Chase and Emmitt Flanery, brother, Tom Flanery of Ottawa and sisters, Lisa (Jeff) Christoffers of Ottawa and Lori O’Cull of Powhatan, VA and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael and sisters Denise Flanery and Debra Hillier.
Chuck attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1973. He was formerly employed at Owens Illinois Glass.
