The Cubs lost to Cleveland 2-1 at Progressive Field. Joc Pederson doubled in the only run for the North-Siders which left a season-high 15 runners on base. The Cubs visit the Detroit Tigers tomorrow.
The Cardinals held the Brewers in check before giving up three runs in the bottom of the eighth and losing 4-1 in Milwaukee. Ryan Helsley was tagged with the loss after allowing all three of those runs. The three-game set wraps up today.
The Chicago Bears 17-game 2021 regular season schedule was released yesterday. The Bears open the season against the Rams in Los Angeles September 12th on Sunday Night Football.
The Chicago Bulls host the Raptors tonight. The Bulls are still fighting for the final spot in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament.
The National Federation of State High School Associations held its annual meeting in late April. At the meeting the Basketball Rules Committee approved a recommendation for a 35 second shot clock for high school basketball. The new rule would permit the IHSA to adopt a shot clock as early as the 2022 season. More meetings from the IHSA board of directors will be necessary before any decisions are made.
